Need serious help!!!!! Just fitted a 4-2-1 manifold and de=cat pipe to my k reg orion 1.8 and it burnt my starter motor out, between the starter and new manifold is only mm's and keeps earthing out, anybody got any idea if there is a smaller starter motor out there that will fit and give me more room between these 2! The fitting of the manifold was all going ok till this happened and it has just all gone pear shape. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

wrap the starter with heat wrap or make a small heat sheild?

 

What kind of heat wrap? Sorry for sounding a novice but i am to the world of tuning. not the greatest car in the world but got to start somewhere!!!!

 

Get a starter off a fiesta mk3 or a ford ka there smaller than the escort/orion ones.
