Default mk 3 escort engine swap..

Hey all, I have a mk3 escort, totally standard 1300 GL.

I am looking into the possibility of an engine swap for something a bit faster, Zetec, Cosworth etc. Are there any engines that would fit straight in with a minimum of messing around?

If not, is there anyone out there with an alternative lump?

Any idea welcomed!

Cheers! Pete

Hmm I'm wanting something with alot more power and quite reliable. I know you can fit those engines! ideally I'd like a high power zetec. Does anyone do a conversion kit?

ive jus put an xr2 lump into my mk4...exactly the same as a mk3 i assume, i had to make my own loom for the ignition as my engine ran off hcs management, but urs shud all jus plug in nice and easy.
as for big power ive seen 180 bhp cvh's u can pick up for about 800 but if u got the cash go for the zetec theres alot of guides etc hoe to fit them on here
