Rs Turbo conversion problem
Posting this on behalf of my friend who has recently had an RsT conversion done on his 1990 Xr3i. Where the original lump was, there now lies a 1992 Fiesta Rs turbo engine bored out to 1760cc apparently, with an Escort T3 turbo. After having the car for around a day and all seemingly running fine, his return journey from work ended with what he describes as gun shot like sounds coming from the engine and a huge cloud of white smoke, followed by black smoke out the rear. He also said the boost gauge suddenly flew round to 20psi then back again??? He had not had the Ecu re-mapped and as i am not a turbo owner myself i'm not sure what advise i can give him so thought i would ask around on here. Any advise is most welcome, cheers, Deano.
P.s, the engine will not fire up again now.

that does sound like managment to me im no expert but i have blew a few cvh turbos up. check inside the turbo to see if damaged or if everything is still there i.e the fan, and nut theat holds at on. also get a compression tester and take each indivual plug out and check for compression. check the loom properly too as the clips are shit. good luck
