Hi Peeps, need to pick your brains, my S1 doesn't want to start when its been left standing, now.... to start it, you need to put your foot to the floor and turn it over, i suppose doing that is like using a manual choke, but as soon as it starts, you can switch it off and then Re-start it and it will fire up staright away with no Throttle, ive changed the Leads for new, new Dissy Cap, Rotar Arm, etc, now am i rightin thinking a sensor could be down?
Soon as the cars running, there are no other running problems.
Cheers Peeps
Regards Mikey

sounds like your thermo time switch is shagged this is located in the centre of the injector rail and is made of brass 24 mm socket needed to remove ,this makes the cold start vavle spray petrol into your engine for 5 seconds wich basicly has the same effect as flooring it

Peeps, just read the manual on the thermo time switch, now it says i need to drain the coolant to fit it, surely not if its in the inlet manifold?
Thanks

the thermo time switch is located at the back of the engine on the inlet manifold intermediate flange which has water going through it for thermo switch and the ecu temp sensor so you will need to drain a bit .best accessed from underneath i think.its more or less directly above the turbo oil supply pipe outlet from the block
the thermo switch has its multy plug pointing to the bulkhead and the ecu sensor,s multyplug is pointing down.
no i dont think so, maybe disconnect the small hose of the steel turbo water supply pipe from underneath and u can then bend the rubber hose down into a basin, and its small enough to put your finger over the end to stop ya drinking the antifreeze
