The wrong Turbo ?
Is it possible to fit a series 2 turbo and manifold, onto a series 1 engine, sounds stupid I know, is it just a case of the extra plumbing for the coolant for the turbo ? Am I right in thinking that 1 connection to the top hose on a series 2 ? but were does the connection go ? The series 1 has been in pieces for a long time, this is why the mistake has not been spotted before.
Thanks

hi mate my series 1 has a s2 turbo fitted and the coolant hoses havnt been plumbed into it. its been on the car for 2 years now and done 8000 miles without any problems. ive also heard other people say that you can run s2 turbos on a s1 without the cooling pipes connected up.
you can run pretty much any garret t3, t34, t28, t38, t4 etc without the water feed pipes as these are'nt for cooling as such but for using the turbo heat to get water up to temperature quicker
the oil does the lubricating and cooling mostly
