Default Lowering rear or a saph........

As title, how easy is it to fit lowering springs, is it just a case of, jack it up, drop dampers & undo the shafts...or is there an easier way

Fronts are a piece of piss to do, just never done rears before

Advise would be appriciated

We did it in Escos by unbolting the dampers and loosening rear beam a little, but there has been huuuge problems with brake lines length.

If i remember correctly one side you can "unscrew" the spring if you feed it into the driveshaft, if that makes sense, the other side is a nightmare because of the exhaust. If you want to do it quickly and painlessly, unbolt the driveshafts and undo the shocks (oh and take of the ARB blades), they are easy to remove then, aslong as the bolts that hold the drive shafts in don't round off!

As far as I remember service manual says you schould remove the whole rear suspension - may be in fact easier then other ways..

Paul, expect to have to disconnect outer ends of driveshafts, dampers, ARB, and drop the beam down each end in turn to get them out.. unless you are really lucky (and careful!) you really need to disconnect the flexi brake hoses from the body bracket to allow the rear arms to drop enough. Apart from the prop and rear diff mount, you will have effectively removed the whole beam assembly.. 4x4 is worse than 2wd because the springs are an inch longer..

technically yes i guess, but there's not much room to get them on in situ..
I wired mine up with weight on them, using stout wire to hold them compressed, made it a bit easier. You have to then compress the new ones and wire them up to replace them.
If u r prepared to drop the driveshafts off and drop down the end of the beam, then it's not really neccesary - I did as i was trying to short-circuit the process by not disconnecting the shafts.. but i think it was probably just as much hassle either way.
