the 1.6 engine in my escort went so i fitted a 1.8 lump.

i have the chipped key and ECU for the 1.8 as well, but when i changed over the ECU and chip the car wouldnt start (im guessing due to immobiliser probs).

is there any other part that i need to take from the 1.8?

 

the imob can be bypassed other than change the imob i dont know mate

ive been told theres a PATS ecu in behind the glove box?

would the trasponder need to be changed?

 

Keys are coded to the PATS not the ecu, afaik.

I don't know on the escy but mine was under the centre part of the dash on the tunnel on me mondy.
