Default My Escort Cosworth

Hi there i would be really greatfull if anyone could help me in the following.
My Father has agreed to at long last by his 93 k plate Ecscort Cossie.

This vehicle has been stored for the last 7 years in his Garage and olthough lots of money was spent on it at ggr, dad has explained it has a few problems.

These are the following

1. Warning Lights on dash are not working no lights. What could be the problem.

2. When you turn lights on the lighting inside is not very bright any more.

3. What would anyone recoment to do to this car to make sure aall is well and should the cam belt be changed.

I live in Plymouth, Devon and do not know of a decent garage that knows what there doing. I dont want to take it to any old garage and have it come back with more problems, So If anyone could recomend a decent garage that knows about the escort i would be greatfull for this.

The car has got the twin headlamps fitted, but i would like to convert them to H.I.D does anyone know if this has been done.

Also various bits of trim need replacing as in the rear plastic speakers shelfs, where could i get them from.

All help and advice would be really helpfull

Regards

Gareth

All oils fluids need replacing as soon as it is possible along with oil filter, might as well do air and fuel filters at same time then all done.
The timing belt needs replacing as they degrade with time as well as mileage, I would do this before the engine is started, just as a precaution.
After 7 years the battery will almost defo be knackered so get a new one.
The belt is not difficult to do, in fact VERY easy, I don't know of anywhere specific your way but it is a straightforward job, nothing difficult at all, other than sometimes the(crank) pulleys can be a royal pain to get off!!
Hid are easy enough to do.

Thanks Fella, will arrange to have a full service carried out on this by local ford dealer.

Tell me what could the problem be with the warning lights and the dash lights being very dim
This was a bugging me, in case its anything major
