i know no fucker will post up on this but gunna ask anyway.
2 litre petrol galaxy.
fail mot on emissions due to lambda sensor being fucked, so replaced, and it drives a lot better and no flat spot, so alls well, but although it passed mot emissons were still high, was told it was fault code.
how would i clear it on the galaxy? been told disconnect battery which i was gunna do anyway and leave off for half hour, then someone said about turning ignition on and off a few times.
just wanna know if anyone has done it on a galaxy

Got a Galaxy i'd go for the battery mate
theres something in the manual about ignition but i think its for resetting the service light..
Most cars clear if u disconnect the battery

The galaxy as all other cars use a KAM, or Keep Alive Memory circuit, most will have a separate FUSE for this one circuit.
This holds all the refined running adjustments and the memory, so pull this to clear it, this has the added advantage of clearing a wrong learnt value due to a dodgy sensor.
Having a fault code will NOT alter emissions as it works from the base map when there is a change due to sensor change.
It MAY not even have flagged a fault code anyway, unless way out of sync, if it was still within running parameters no fault will have been detected, this is the problem with ECU fault reporting, and the dire lack of diagnostic skills taught these days.
If there is no fuse marked KAM, then just disconnect the battery for 5 minutes is plenty.

reason i reckon a code was given was the fact mot guy said it was off the scale, fitted a new sensor and he said it was worse.
still took it somewhere else and they got it right down, they reckon it could be the exhaust as i welded a hole up in it to get it through mot as not got cash till next month to get one.
