Default Leaking focus!

i have a leak in the passenger side foot well (ford focus 1.8 tdi), someone said its to do with a pollen tank or something like this, any idea what this is, i cant see where the leak is and it only gets damp when there is a very heavy downpour

I don't know if this is the same on FOCUS, but on MK1/2 mondeos the pollen filter housing gasket leaks water as mine did.
Easy fix just take off the housing around the pollen under the scuttle/wiper area and reseal, I used LOCTITE 5910 has not leaked a drop since.
It only ever did it on the mondy on the passenger side front, when it was parked a certain way.

the pollen filter cover needs to be tucked under the metal part of the scuttle when refitted [this then acts like a gutter]otherwise water will run down below the plastic part and into car, check its been refitted properly

the plastic scuttle panel on the focus has to be bonded/ glued/ sealed (whatever you want) to the windscreen on the passengers side! if it isn't sealed water runs down behind it, into the pollen filter and onto your passengers feet! they were sealed with a double sided tape stuff from ford, which doesn't last!

i fit windscreens during the week and when fitting a focus we're told to ask if the car has been serviced recently, because of that seal been broken! we then reseal them!

like you say they are orig stuck on with double sided tape but as long as the lower part is tucked under the scuttle then any water that runs down between the screen is carried away,if you dont get this fitted properly then it will pour in you can seal them also if you want but no need if its fitted properly in the first place
