Default Larger intercooler = more lag... or not

I was having a conversation on another forum about intercoolers and people were under the impression that a large FMIC will mean noticably more lag. I remember this is what i used to think until i seen a post on here quite some time ago stating that this wasn't exactly correct.

There wasn't a whole topic on it and i've been using the search facility for AGES but no joy. I remember whoever explained it said that even with the different sizes of intercooler, the difference would be more like 0.1 second or similar to pressurise so although technically more lad, the difference would not be noticable.

I'm just checking if anyone remembers the post or could put an explanation in simple terms as i don't quite remember fully

cheers in advance

Obviously with a larger intercooler yes there is more capacity inside it so more space to fill with charged air, but as you say its not going to be a massive difference, it will be very small, if noticeable at all.
