Default Rev counter

Hi there
I have a mk6 escort with a fiesta turbo engine everything works fine except the rev counter that shows what ever it feels like usually I think half the revs of the engine. I tryed to run a wire straight from the coil the rev counter but it didnt do anything. Any ideas what could be wrong???
thank you in advance

Its in wasted spark configuration and will always read a max of half what your engine runs at. You need to get an EFI tacho.

The only thing i would say Stu........surely on Mk6's theres hardly any cars that run a conventional coil?

I've not seen any myself, even the pissy 1.3 HCS tap monsters run coil packs

You could try connecting the rev counter input to Pin 11 of EDIS, may solve your problem
