2.0 engine swap problems
I've just fitted a 2.0 black top out of a t reg mondeo into a l reg fiesta xr2i which was a rite carry on as they are different water pump set ups and I'm having problems with the ecu . i can get it 2 run on the xr2i ecu but not the 2.0 one it wont start . the only thing i can think of is the 2.0 is chip key but i don't av the keys plus my xr2i doesn't av the wiring around the column for the chip key. does any one know a way round this or a way to wire the chip up as i cant run on the xr2i ecu as it under fuels and will cause damage. any help on this will be gratefully received.

The 2.0 ECU will never be plug and play, you'll probably find the 2.0 one has internal PATS & EDIS, and i expect your old ECU doesn't.........

Too many posts.. I need a life!!
The 2FCD ecu has external EDIS and the TAXI ecu has internal EDIS so they aren't interchangeable.
There is a post as to how to convert your loom to use an internal EDIS ecu here http://www.fiestaturbo.com/forums/2-...t-vt130795-35/ by 'Jack The Lad' that I think will work as I believe the pinouts of the 2FCD are the same as the RS1800 this guide was written for.
I don't know if your TAXI ecu will give a PATS problem, if it does you will need to find a DEWY, DEEP or DESK ecu.
