i have had a lambda sensor boss fitted to my downpipe it is roughly located on the downpipe just before it goes under the car will this still work a afr gauge ok or is it in wrong possition any help appreciated thanks

As said will be fine , just take a little longer to get up to temp and start working, as close to engine as poss is best due to needing heat as these do not work at all below 300C, but if 3/4 wire is heated and will work ok a lot sooner than one that is not heated.

If you buy a good wideband setup they should heat themselves and control their operating temperature anyway.
