Default Big Valves

Can larger valves be used without replacing valve seats? If so how much larger (silver top Zetec I=32mm E=28mm)?

What kind of price can I expect to pay to have valve seats replaced?

Rich.

NO & LOTS!!
Larger valves need larger seats for them to work, they work by offerring more airflow potential, and they will cost a bit to get in, as have to be cut in, IF THERE IS ENOUGH MEAT on the head!!

I wouldn't say so... I've just fitted one millimeter larger valves into my CVH head... the seats themselves were machined by 2 mm.... I'd say it depends on the head you are doing. From my experience it can be done on CVH... don't know about zetec

In my case probably not much as standard unmoded zetec head would flow more air then big valve CVH But still every bit gives you gain in power (I'll use it on 2.0 bottom, so I needed better flowing head)
