excesive pressure in coolant system please help

hey guys not been on for a wile so ELLO
right just got my missus a 18si but its over heating quite quick and the top rad hose is solid there is no mixing but little smoke could this be a blocked rad or dose it sound like head gasket

Thanks for the replys guys
so if the test was low i take it its the gasket??
had it running tonight with the coolant cap of and its fine put it back on and within 2 mins it bubbles over
no gunk under the oil cap and water looks dirty but no oil through it ???
