hi, has anybody come across this fault
my sapphire 4x4 cosworth, mainly when backing off & going down hill when car is trying to hold back, has a bad jerking sensation. how can i describe this better feels like driving a car with the timing out or running out of fuel, has this fault in all gears, the lower the gear & the slower you go (especially between 20/40 the worse it is) when accelerating no probs,goes like s**t off a stick, nothing picked up when it was rolling road tuned but on rollers my opinion is, it is slowing down gradually & not trying to hold back, could this be a gear box fault be grateful to hear from anyone with this same fault

 

CPS connector, do the old wiggle test, and you may find it is making/breaking contact within the housing.
New AMP connectors are available, PM me if you have trouble.

What is the CPS and how do you do this test exactly?

 

CRANK POSITION SENSOR, it's connector often plays up.
The only thing you can do is the wiggle test, whilst running.

thanx very much 4 your answer but weve tryed that n it hasnt altered anything, so its a case of back to the drawing board
a lot of people seem 2 think it's backlash in the transmission
