Default eletric window problem...

can someone help with regards my windows in my escort RST. Its a series two.

The problem Im having is that the passenge side window won't go down. From either the drivers side or passenger side switch.

It does seem to be intermittent normally working after Ive opened the door and shut it, but in all honesty this happens perhaps once every 50 times! Once it goes down, it will go back up!

Ive taken the door trim off but I don't know what Im looking for in all honesty. I can say one thing though, I can hear the motor want to go up when I push the window up button from driver and passenger switch it that is any help.

When I first got the car about 1 year ago the passenger window would always work, but rather slowly...

Look forward to any replies.

Hi
I had a simular problem in my mondeo TD some time back now.
I know it aint much help but i just went down to my local scrappy and picked up another motor for around a tenner, Once fitted it all worked proper again.
So to recap i think your motor is buggered, if not the motor the thing that holds the cable to push and pull the window (sorry i cant think what its called now)

Id say you have either a brake in the wire somewhere(if it works when you move the door) or you motor is fucked.

There will be a broken wire in one of the flexible door wiring sections.

Because its a held to negative system, if theres a break in any of the wires it goes open circuit and won't work.

Remove the flexible section from whichever door it is that makes the window work when opened, and continuity test each wire, and you will find the break
