Default temp gauge fault

can any1 help ive just found my temp switch on my saph 4x4 and it had no wire to it to move the temp gauge in car so i took the clocks out and the temp gauge wire was taped up not connected but their is no wire to connect to the temp sender switch but the fan kicks in on my car still how can i get round connecting the sender unit to the temp gauge can you help ....

See what colour wire has been taped up and find it in the engine bay, then untape the wire at dash end and you should be able to see which terminal it goes onto in the multi plug that plugs into the clocks, reconnect and job done.
If it comes to it just run a seperate wire from sender to clocks, PM me if still stuck and I'll find wire colour for you at sender and terminal postion at clock end.
