twinky to 2.9 cologne speedo question AND THE SOLUTION
hello
soon i will convert my twinky sapphy to a 2.9 rwd with the mt75 from a scorpio from 91.
now i found out might have some probs with the speedo drive in te gearbox:
the twinky has a VSS on the left side of the box en the cable on the right side of it.
the 2.9 box has the vss on the left side of the box an the other side is blinden with a plug.
i have the plug removed so the cable can put in, but since this box didnt have a cable speed, here is my question:
can i use the vss and speedo drive from the twinky box to suit the 2.9 one?
or do i have to swap the dash for a scorpio one.
already thanx alot.

just sort it out
i went to the local scrapyard and bought the twinky speedo drive and vss ,
got home, compared it with the 2.9 obne , the diameter of both was the same , but the twinky one had more teeth, so??? just put them togheter
the 2.9 teeth part with the twinky drive part:
i wont suspect any problems because the diameter of both sprockets is the same and so are the revs in a minute.
the whole thing is now gleud togheter with epoxy so it wont break.
this might be intresting for everyone who wants to convert his twinky (and even more engines) to the v6 12 and v6 cossie.
in england you might have the options for original parts from a xr4i or something but in holland you wont find these parts that easy.
