Default YB Spigot Bearing.

How far do I tap it in ? i.e. flush with the end face on the crank or up to the step in the bore that stops it going any further ?

Please don’t just post the link to the manual as I did have that, but since work upgraded my PC I don’t have it anymore and they won’t let me download pdf’s

Cheers for any replies.

Measure the length of hole and the length of bearing, it may only go in one way depth wise as it may be at the bottom of hole when fully in ?

Thats the problem, the bore in the crank (after the taper but before the stop) is about 4 to 5 mm longer than the bearing. I am not sure if I should go flush with the outside face or right up to the step

I would go flush as otherwise you will have to find something that is the PRECISE SIZE of the bearing outer dege to tap it but not bigger than the hole, flush will be fine.

should be tapped all the way in (use the old one as a drift).

if you don't tap it all the way home, the tapered shoulder on the gearbox input shaft could damage the needle roller case

Thank you

I would have used the old one but it was completely mangled by the time it came out

Still no excuse though for not mesuring how far it was in though before destroying it
