Spigot bearing for RST/CVH. The same?
I've had to buy a spigot bearing for my conversion from front to rear-wheel drive car (Fiesta RS Turbo to Westfield Type-9 box).
The spigot bearing seems a bit tighter than expected. I bought the same ford no. that went into my 1.6 CVH.
In this respect... are all 1.6 CVH engines the same?
Both flywheels have the same stud pattern so, I'm assuming the diameter of the spigot is the same.
Thanks,
Neil

Thanks, Jive but, my 1.6 CVH has one in because of the conversion. After a bit of gentle persuation with some grease my new bearing went in, Apparently out by 0.15 mm. Nothing a bit of 'wet and dry' paper couldn't handle

I tought spigot bearing is the one mating the gearbox to the flywheel in RWD cars, but apparently you meant the clutch release bearing? There are at least couple of them in different sizes. As far as I know, there is no telling from outside what kind of one your gearbox have. As you said, there are no impossibilities though, just obstacles

You are right, Jive. My clutch-bearing problem was a whole lot more expensive
The spigot, so I was told, is used to align the drive shaft from the gearbox. I don't pretend to know much about cars but, I'm learning a lot from sites like this. However, the flywheel wasn't on when the spigot went in.
Thanks for your time,
Neil
