Gearbox/clutch problem, please help
Hi,
I have a problem with the clutch on a 1.8 TD N plate escort.
The clutch arm on the gear box is loose, it attached to the gear box on a spline that comes out of the box.
It is secure to the spline, but the spline itself is loose and wobbling about
There is also vurtually no clutch pedal, tiny bit, and it vibrates when pressed down?
Do I need to replace the clutch, and this spline thingy, can it be fixed without removing the box?
Please let me know if you have any idea's.
Matt

Being the later type release fork you will probably get away with taking the arm off and levering it out. And by the way, the rubber cap is seperate, one thats off you should see a white nylon sleeve
You'll have to hope the bottom locator within the box isn't worn, if it is that will be a new casing needed

For what its worth id check that nylon sleeve out mate, the bottom hole isnt going to be a 100% tight fit as you have to angle the fork in to the hole when you fit it.
The casing is only aluminium though, so its going to be prone to wear if its not greased up
