scorpio problem, anyone
father inlaw has got got a ford scorpio, all was ok yesterday, but today whenhe presses the button in on the side of the gear stick (automatic) it makes a buzzing sounds from behind the dash, and stays on in any gear, moving or not untill its put back in park.
anyone got any ideas on this?
my first thought was maybe a door was open, but they were all shut, he gunna look at the door pin switches tomorrow.
dunno if it is that or not, anyone come across this before?
if it makes any difference, the radio and no interior lights works, thats a fuse we know which will be changed but cant see that having a effect on it.
any tips as to what it could be or where to look would be good and i can pass them on to him.
cheers

Could be fookin' anything on those things
I've just bought one myself as a cheap runaround and the electric are a bit complicated to say the least.....lol
Door switches may be the best place to start; I know a buzzer sounds if the door is opened when the box isn't in P

20K+ Super Poster.
This is not the door switch but the GEAR LEVER ALARM!!
If you try to move gear lever with pressing button it will sound and should prevent you from being able to move lever until button is pressed, it is a lockout to prevent accidental engagement of gear, standard fitment.
tabetha
ps the same buzzer does many functions such as lights as well
