hi, people. my mates bro has got a 1.4 cvh carb mk5 and we hit some probs. it broke down in petrol station the other day and i ended up goin to have a look as wouldnt start. took filter cover off and air filter and carb were completely soaked in oil. we had to tow it home in the end. ive given it new plugs+leads, air filter and cleaned carb and just managed to get it runnin.
Anyway back to the problem. Got a feelin the crankcase breather is blocked but not sure how to unblock it. Is it the pipe which comes out the right of the rocker cover and down behind the engine? it looks pretty full of crap so gonna try take it off and clean it out. am i right in sayin ill need to try and unblock it where the pipe joins onto the engine block aswell, then change the oil and filter? not had lot of experince on cvhs.
As i say we got it runnin but need to fix the original problem too. Any help gratefully recieved

That sounds about right mate ive had a few like that they just need a good clean up pull the pipes off and give them a good clean out also be a good idear to take the rocker cover off too as that can get slugded up and deff make sure you change the oil.Pull the rear breather pipe off where it enters the rear of the engine and that will probably be blocked too.You should find it will run much better after that
