Default Rebuilding cvh

Hey

Ok i've done it, I have bough another engine. Done 180,000km, and has a funny sound from the cam (have been told haven't heard it myself..)

So I want to rebuild it into something than can take 200 bhp, maybe more. I want to keep it 1,6 cvh

What would you recommend I use for the rebuild? What should be done?

a cam kit like the piper 285T or the kent cvh34,
new piston rings, gasket set, water pump, oil pump, vernier pulley, cam belt,
heavy duty bearing shells, conrod bolts, flywheel bolts, and some more and maybe new pistons, rockers , valves and valveseats.
I guess the crankshaft needs to be machined at that amount of mileage.
u also need to have the cilinders getting honed and maybe rebored.
not to forget the 'special' tools and other bits.

its not possible to say what needs to be done to any particular engine. its best to get hold of some education like 'rebuilding ford's cvh engine' from Haynes.. hope this helps

yeh all the parts you should beable to get from burton and a engine stand would be very handy a hybrid turbo might help you to for the 200bhp you want and low comp pistons and chip it this will bring ur compresion ratio down and allow you to run more boost i think its bout 8/9psi standard.

its not hard to do a rebuild, the engine has markings on it for the timing settings all you have to do is line markings up buy a haynes manual it has all timing marks shown in pictures and it takes you thru step by step, it also has all the torque settings for parts like the head bolts, main bearings etc etc wich you will need, also mite need an engine jack if you wana take out the complete engine, i no on the fiesta turbo to get the engine block out the gearbox comes out with it as 1 piece the low comp pistons are a deffo (but not cheap) it will able you to run higher boost and not to sure bout the spacer plate to be honest, the main thing is to take your time or if you can buy a complete engine 2nd hand and do all the work to it then fit it and break your old engine and sell it or and you should maybe look into uprating your brakes to, 200bhp anit cheap but done rite it will be worth every penny hope this has helped a bit more

frstboy, thnx, but I really wonder if you could "do" with a spacer plate.. although it seems to be the cheap option
Im getting an engine stand and I'll start to take it apart... can't wait
