whats the Quickest/Easyest way to take turbo off

Hi im taking my turbo and exhaust manifold off today had a go last night before i came home

seems like a mission getting to the nuts where it bolts to the exhaust manifold? or do you take the whole exhaust manifold off?

exhaust downpipe is off and all hoses and pipes are off

someone HELP please

It's easier to remove turbo from the manifold, manifold is properly big job to remove with engine inside the car.

3 nuts are easy - 4th might require modyfiing a tool or something. We had to use angle grinder on one of the spanners to get there. But after 3 or 4 turbo changes it now only takes 30 minutes or so.

most people trim down and bend/angle a spanner to get to the last nut as said above

you need to bend a 17mm spanner like this to get to the bastid ones..

Thanks for the info yous i posted this, this morning before i went out just got in and all done didnt have to bend any spanners or use and shifty tools just my sockets and spanners i have stripped a lot of the car aswell tho so it probebly made the whole job a lot easyer

got a brand new 2wd exhaust manifold that should be fuin fitting it knuckles are cut backs killing me lmao really did enjoy it tho havent been under a bonnet since i owned S2 esc turbo about 7yrs ago




didnt where no gloves and got about 5 billion rusty metal splinter from the shavings of the zorst anyonr else get this my hand and wrists look like i got a rash but as you feel it you realise it loads of little metal splinter
