i've hooked up the voltage meter with no probs, the boost gauge has no use but i dont know how the oil pressure gauge works of an RS2000 engine, any ideas?

i take it i will need an escort cosworth sender unit??

yea, they are off an escort cosworth. the car isnt a replica but the interior is a replica - as i like the interior so much!!

You need the Escort Cosworth pressure sensor if they're still available - it's totally different to the switch on a normal Escort. Last time I checked they were about £35 quid...

asked at my local ford parts and they are now discontinued and i have been told that a generic sender wont be calibrated to the ford gauges therefore they will give a false reading.

does anyone have a sender going for cheap?!!!

You could try a generic sender, the times ive heard main dealer people saying bullshit like that when the sad truth is they don't really know the answer!

I doubt the standard one is THAT accurate anyway

I think the wiring is odd on the Escos gauge that might mean it won't work with a generic sender. Rather than having a negative and a positive from the sender it has three wires, two of which are from the sender and one that is negative...

All the generic senders ive seen have only 1 connection, its just a variable resistor, dead short to earth is maximum oil pressure!

hmm, i'll have to start ringing around the breakers for a sender unit.
if i got one would it go straight into the i4 block or would it need re-tapping?
