Live Mappable tune on an EEC4 ECU (For a 5.0 V8 Twin Turbo)?
Hey Peeps, i need some help.My mates got a 1990 Mustang engine in his Sierra 3dr. the engine is a 5.0 V8 fuel injection, with relativly low compression ratio.he wants to carry out a twin turbo conversion(utilising 2 T2's running appox 5 psi each). wot we wana no is once the conversion is dun, wud it be possible to live map the standard EEC4 ECU which is currently using a MAF Sensor to accept the turbos?
Anybody that can help or give advice plz msg me and i would be most grateful.

Yes, it is possible to live map is the short answer
Hardware-wise, this is what you need;
DIY from here www.moates.net if you can live without datalogging or www.tweecer.com if you cannot do without it. There are alternatives out there but this is pretty much the cheapest way of doing it. I use the Ostrich setup from Moates and it's excellent.
Whilst the Tweecer comes with it's own editing software a lot of people use TunerPro ( http://tunerpro.markmansur.com ), that said there is a new release of the Tweecer software currently downloadable as a beta version that is meant to fix a lot of the bugs.
There's also plenty of American forums that will be of use, this is one which has quite a few knowledgeable guys on; http://eectuning.org/forums .
Which eec-iv is your mate running? If it's a GUFB strategy (e.g. A9L) he'll be in luck because it's the most hacked Ford ecu.

I don't think that a couple of T2's will necessarily be a restriction, whilst it may be a 5.0l engine it only produces 225bhp so you've only got 112.5 bhp per bank which isn't going to be a lot of exhaust gas.

You have the making there for a VERY poor engine, theres an excellent technical essay on turbo's written by Stu

A turbo that small will strangle the engine though, and then to only run that amount of boost?! I really don't see it being worth the money involved myself
