Need help battery drain with clifford alarm and boot light.
I cant leave my 4x4 saff cos for more than a week with out the battery going flat,I have changed the battery 3 times under warranty due to them ending up with a dead cell.Even when the battery is new its still the same???
I tested each live off the positive with the car locked and alarmed and the only drain i could find was 00.4amps which was the alarm,it does go up to 20a when the alarm is set then dropsback down.
Alternator charging fine.
Since getting my saff back fom the body shop for rear arche repairs, the boot light doesnt work(yes ive trid the bulb )cant see no loose connections and the car map on the dash comes on.
Also when i try locking the car with clifford remote or by the passenger door the doors lock then unlock like there is a door open but if i use the keyon the drivers side door its fine.(could this related to the above)
This is why I hate my car going into garage etc!!!!!!!!!
Any help will be very much appreciated.

alarm
well its funny you should say that because if dont start my saff for a week the battery goes flat but iv spoke to my mate thats got one and he tells me that the abs pump primes its self every 15 mins and this is what flattens his battery but im yet to see if this is the same on mine....and iv got clifford on mine aswell if i lock the car with the alarm and just stand by the car after about 10 15 mins i can here the abs pump prime is this rite....also you need to check all the switchs that work the lights when you open the door boot bonnet as one of mine was faulty and the doors would lock and unlock of the alarm fob but not of the key hope some of this helps.....

I had an RS2000 with a Clifford alarm that used to do this. It turned out it was because the backup battery in the alarm siren was shot and wasn't holding a charge. Consequentially it would continuously drain the main battery to try and charge the backup.
I replaced the backup battery and it was fine afterwards.

An internal siren battery won't affect a boot light
Don't we just know thats the best option Not the most cost effective one though

Well when I first posted this topic(21dec)I had just disconnected the boot switch and just happened to change the fuel pump relay due to it kept clicking alot when the battery was flat so i thought i may just change it,anyway I went into the car yeterday and noticed the interior lights were coming on which is unusal after leaving the car for this amount of time,so I put the key in the ignition and PREYED! And the car only started!!!!!
After 3years,6 batterys, new alarm, calling a useless auto electrician, using jump leads everytime I wanted to use my saph,i think i have finally sorted the battery drain,I dont know which one of the two was at fault, but I dont care its sorted!!!!!
