i have just purchached a 1990 spec rs escort the person had fitted a big actuater and not set it up so i sent it in to camco and he has set it at 12psi but in 4th and 5th gear it over boosts still 1st 2nd and 3rd fine does this mean i need a chip for this as i was told it was chipped but unknown no proof if this please can anybody help

 

If its hitting the limiter then no it cant be chipped

11-12 psi is on the limit for a non chipped car. Was the fuelling set up aswell just out of interest........

 

not sure i dont think it was i have just got hold of a s2 ecu chipped can i just replace mine with this and solve the prob

 

It will stop it overboosting but the ecu more than likely won't have the right set up on it for your spec engine
