i have a problem with my mk6 escort gti, the tyre well fills up with water after a heavy night of rain and the passenger side of the boot is soaked behind the carpet, wonder if anyone has any suggestions on how to solve this problem???????

 

sometimes rain water enters through the rear lights,remove the rear lights,clean up the foam seal and apply silicone sealer to both sides of the seal and refit.

 

i tried that method but still leaking, i aint got a clue where from, do you think it could be the boot seal????

 

possibly.....or time to climb inside the boot while someone goes over it with a garden hose

 

Could be one of the pipe's on the sunroof has come off or the sunroof try rusted at the back

Got the same prob on my mk6, re-sealed the lights, took spoiler on thought i found the prob cause that had bout half pint of water in it, fuck knows how it got in there, so re-sealed that, but still leaking not as bad tho! think it may be the tailgate seal so going to get the bathroom sealent out again!

 

yeah i had the same problem with my spoiler, sorted that out a while ago and everything was fine but the boot has started to leak again!! will try sealing the lights tonight, thanks.
