Default Clifford gone silent :(

Hi all
My clifford 300 has been working faultlessly(?) for the past 4years up until monday. I went to unlock the car as normal which it did but the siren didnt utter a sound. I locked and unlocked it again but it still didnt make a noise.
The doors all lock and unlock as they should and it will go into valet mode ok.
Do the sirens become faulty and stop working? Im thinking not as it all appears ok (no broken wires etc) The only thing i have done to the car is change the interior clock as it the lcd had started to fail. Even tried putting the old one back to see if it made a difference.
Ive put it in & out of valet mode and disconnected the battery for a while and still got no where with it.
Alarm was profesionaly installed, car is a 1993 orion.
Any ideas?

yea the siren should still work. and all functions. but the arm and dis-arm should to. unless the battery has gone flat. at which point the back-up in the alarm will stop the chirp noise to save power
