Hi, I have a late Escort Mk6 van. 1.8 diesel. I want to keep the van but the engine is poo. I have asked various people about changing the engine for a turbo version. They say it is uneconomical. Anybody got any more costructive ideas? I would be up for someone who knew what they are doing, possibly using a donor vehicle.

 

alright fella im in the same boat as you fella i was thinking of dropping in a rs 1800 engine as it wont be as good on juice but it will shock a few people
in my situation i had sold my series 2 as i do go karting so i really needed a bigger van also i was doing about £40 to £50 in juice a week but if i put the rs 1800 lump in then ill only be doing about £30 a week ,were on the diesal i do loads of miles on £10 i wa thinking about putting a slighter closer ratio g/b in to help it out as the gearing is so long
