Default Advice Please!!!!

Help me please.....
1997 Ford Fiesta Encore (1300)

SOoooo I've been having this problem for a while...
I'll be driving along and then all of a sudden, it feels as though there's no flow of fuel....even with my foot flat down....if I take my foot off the accelerator it cut's out! It feels as though I’m running out of petrol (not possible on half a tank)
Starts again with no problem though......
If I keep my foot down it comes’s back...full throttle, no problems...
For a while it was fine...
Until yesterday....it happens again but this time it cuts out completely, and when I try to restart, it doesn’t start...

So the cars stuck down the road now, after doing some research I suspect it could be the idle speed control valve:
http://forums.preloved.co.uk/fuseact.../13d90be7.html (sounds similar to her problem)

Problem is even if that is the issue I have no idea where to locate the "idle speed control valve" Anyone know where to find a labeled engine picture, maybe a DIY tutorial, or any other advice on what the problem might be???

Just to add, when this happens, the engine would rattle slightly, and it would also happen when the car was in neutral….

how does the fuel pump work on that engine mechanical or elctrical?

i once had this problem on a cvh engine with mechanical pump and the rod that works the pump off the cam was worn short thus not actuating the pump enough and starving it of fuel on full throttle
