Default Please Help - Sapp Cossy, Ignition Lights will not trun on

Please could someone help me?

1) My 2wd sapp cossy's ignition lights will not turn on when the key is turned, however, the car starts fine. When driving thu, the battery light comes on and will remain on. Is me alternator shot??

2) Also the dash computer which monitors the doors, lights etc, rev counter and water temp gauge has also stopped working at the same time. I can’t figure this out, all fuses are fine, connection etc.

Any help will be much appreciated?

Cheers

Indy

if the stereo doesnt work as well its prob a fuse cause it should be on the same one mate - cant remember which one it is now, but it controls all the dash lights. Could be the alternator i guess, can you chuck a volt meter accross it?

hi there think you and me have the same problem, apart from mines on a escort gti, it went today!

my plan of action is to replace, clocks, wiper stalks and alternator and see what happens

please can you let me know what sorts yours as all my fuses and relays are intact,

run a volt meter on your battery too, while the engines running, if it reads less than 12volts or around twelve your alternator wont be charging your battery, but if its running between 13.5-15 then your alternators working. my motor has the same symptons as yours and the alternator isnt charging the battery

Default Cossy ignition lights still not turning on

Hi mate,

Ive checked everything now, I even bought a new alternator as the current one was only reading 12Volts at the battery with the engine running. With the new alternator, and fully charged battery its still reading 12 Volts, still no igintion lights and the battery light comes on. I think that there is an electrical fault somewhere, Ive checked all the fuses aswell.

Please can anyone suggest anything else that i have missed, failing that it's time for an auto electrician.

any help would be much appriciated as me Cossy
