they're manual. I can get my hand behind it but can't tell where the clips are (that is, if they are clipped in)

According to my haynes you are supposed to use a flat screw driver or similar to pip it off.

However, i didnt think manual ones were the same. Either way, i bet you crack it trying to get it off i always do

some t**t had knocked the wing mirror, I only noticed when i got home, I managed to pull the cables back in because it was loose, then clip it back to the car. looks fine now thanks, whoever you are (clumsy prat!!)
