2wd ?

A friend of mine is using a starter off a 1.6 CVH manual out of a mk5 escort.

Having said that, I looked in a pattern/reconditioned part catalogue a few years ago (can't remember whos) and it stated that the 2wd cossie starter is the same as an escort diesel starter.

Take your starter down to the scrappers with you and check it bolts up and has the same size/shape/quantity of teeth.

my mates definately came out of a mk5 escort 1.6 CVH - which is probably no different to any other CVH (manual not auto) starter motor

Stop messing about and get a recon or get yours rebuilt(usually overnight) Will cost about Ł80 with a guarentee!!
