Default Alarm Troubles not too bad though.

Hi Peeps, i got a little problem with my alarm, i never put it in so there might be a few dicky wires!! Its a Laserline system, locks and arms it self if you leave the car open, but when you put the car in the garage and arm it, in the middle of the night the system will false alarm, so now i leave it switched off to stop it doing it, so just the immobilser is on.

Anyone have an idea what it could be?

Thanks peeps

Regards Mikey

it should (IIRC) flash the led a number of times or beep a different number of times than normal whenu disarm the alarm, this will indicate what triggered it,

2 favourites are ultrasonics , and the bonnet pin switch, as these are at the front, they geta ll the rain/spray and salt in them and fail veryt often. , is it a 966 or 993 (2:1 upgrade) model? i thinki have an old handbook in mt draws somwhere

here goes...

when you disarm the alarm, but DONT turn the ignition on (ignition cancells the sens and tell) the LED will flash a number of times in a morse code type sequence as follows:

flash pause, flash pause etc = volt drop (interior light, mobile phone charger, radar detector etc)

flash flash pause, flash flash pause = interior detection(ultrasonics) ie open window, sunroof, open air vent and gust of wind.

flash flash flash pause, flash flash flash pause = earth contact, ie door swicth, boot or bonnet switch.

4 flashes and pasue repeated (u get the idea....) = shock sensor

5 flashes and pause repeated = ingition energisation - ie someone trying to hotwire it.

6 flashes and pause repaeted = disconnection of main car battery or supply to the alarm.

hope this helps,

cheers, dave.
