what can i do to my xr4i

i havegot a 2.0 xr4i. i want it 2 be quick but not loose the drivability.
what can i do with out turboing or engine change

Same as any engine, get more air and fuel into the engine. So, cams (rare), headwork, throttle boddies, aftermarket ECU etc.
