Default Xr3i Cab, Engine change!

Rite mate has a xr3i (mfi injection) mk4 escort cab! the engines now on 233k and is pretty much dead!

what we wanna know is can we use a 1.6 carb engine and just change the inlet manifold over and stuff needed?

If not, would it need a rs turbo loom to run a turbo lump, as it is mfi already?

Cheers for ne help

FUCKIN ELLLLLLLL 233k on a CVH

What year of manufacture is the carb engine and what is it out of? Later cars went to lean burn so that won't be any good on MFI....

I would never of guessed it smokes

If you can find an early 1.6 carb, like a XR2 engine then that will be the same thing, but the later engines as i said changed over from hemi heads to leanburn, (all the 3i engines stayed hemi).

If you look on this site www.pumaracing.co.uk/cvh.htm this shows you all the different casting numbers of the head so you should be able to pick a suitable engine out
