Default head gasket problem

Hi I just bought a suzuki jeep sj 1300 with blown engine appartnly the block is cracked hence why i got it mega cheap! so i can go play in the woods after inspection I have found that block has a small crack between cyclinders 2-3 but this engine has linners instead of boared block.

the linners are undamaged but the head gasket has blown where the crack is between the cylinder 2 and 3 fire rings! so this is what I am thinking of replacment engine at £200 which could do the same in 2 weeks or repair the crack with chemical metal (i will open it a tiny bit to fill it) and skim the head and put it all back together with new head gasket what do u reckon?
