Default Waste gate

My mates just bought a saph cossie and has a waste gate but what i want to know is it better to have a dump valve in it?

Waste gates and dump valves are different things.

All turbo's have a wastegate to control the amount of boost they run......a DV is an aftermarket item believed to help protect the turbo and also alleged to help with spool up times in between changes etc.

In reality though unless you are running a bit of a monster they really aren't needed, plus the fact they are considered now

Its running about 370bhp the now 23psi.

The general ruling on it seems to be unless you are running about 30+ psi of boost or a T4 or larger, then one isnt needed
