Hi eveyone

My first post on these boards regarding aircon on my 1998 Escort GTi.

Does anyone know if using the aircon uses up a serious amount of fuel.

I had a new pump fitted recently and I was losing gas and it turned out to be the pump, I put in £30 of petty and ive done 130 miles and its nearly empty any ideas if this is a problem or quite normal.

it seems to knock 1 0r 2 m/p/gallon off my cossie

 

only way to be sure is to fill up and keep the air con off, see how you get on with fuel then.

but I dont think thats the source of your fuel usage issue.
