Default Tarmac Dampers

Hello.

Intro
I'm from Toronto Canada and I have an 87 Merkur Xr4ti. A SOHC 2.3 Turbo. I'm in the process of dumping that heap of scrap and tossing in a 347 SBF with a SuperCharger.

Purpose

I guess for the first time I'm taking a different approach to my suspension. With all the available WRC engineered parts being made and the quality of these parts it would be a shame to throw the run-of-the-mill coilovers or standard strut/spring combo at the car. Why cut corners on something that is just as important if not more than a high HP engine?

What I'm looking for is a bit of direction. I'd like to know what specifically designed Tarmac Dampers can do for me? What is the design like (mono or twin tube )? Adjustability and what is the best possible Damper I can buy that won't start spewing oil after a few seasons. Basically, what is the best damper I can get, why and who makes them?

I only need a coilover for the front with about 500lbs to 550lbs spring. It's the strut I worry about. I also only need a shock for the back without coilover setup. The rear will have a custom coilover fabricated into the stock spring location with at least a 450lbs spring. This is my starting point. The spring combo's can and will be uprated if need be.

Background
Myself and my engine set up is alot more heavier than the average joe and his 2.3T . I'm looking at a SBF with a supercharger and I weigh 240lbs. Standard AVO's are grossly inadequate and Koni's (yellow) seem to be cracking underpressure.

The car itself will be run on the track. I'm intently aspiring to do this as the street is very unsafe and just plain stupid to be trying to test on. There will be cruise days and spirited driving under optimal conditions but that's really it.

Any info, websites or books to read or persons/companies to talk to would be excellent.

I guess most of us dont know what your car is sorry

Proflex suspenson is quite a favourite for competition vehicles here in Europe. Many many competition vehicles run it sucessfully.

His car is just an ordinary old MkI Sierra XR4i but with a motor that's like a all iron 2 liter Pinto that ate its Wheeties when it was small and grew up bigger to 2300 and got a T3 turbo like you guys got on the fwd Escort turbo.

Nothing special, just a silly made up name "Merkur".
