Default breather problem

i put a little k&n oil breater filter onto the side of my rocker cover(its a 1.6 cvh)

well anyway the problem is, is it meant to have oily steam coming out of it case im just worrying if its doing the engine any damage

Thats about right mate, the standard item (Oil control filer) is designed to allow gases to flow through the gauze while preventing oil flow, its not ideal to put one straight on the rocker cover as you will always get a bit of residue,.

Just out of interest why have you bought one?

What like creamy stuff? If so thats normal, where the oil mixes with the condensation, mainly when doing short runs and the engine doesnt get hot enough.

Take it for a long drive and it will dissapear. I personally would re-connect it up standard, seeing as its only a carbeurettor u wont be seeing any benefits. And the breather fumes are nasty inside the car

Its not the breather making the difference, its cos you have removed the cold air pipe to the air box.

Years ago i had a 1.4 CVH Orion, i did the same with the cold air pipe and i had people asking me if i had an induction kit, and i was like its a carbeurettor
