GOT A SINGLE PISTON BAILEYS VENTURI DUMP VALVE ON AT THE MOMENT AND I FANCY A CHANGE. TRIED A MATES FORGE TWIN PISTON AND IT WORKED FINE. BOUGHT A GGR GRP A TODAY AND IT DOESNT WORK LOL. (WHICH I THINK IS A DIAPHRAM TYPE)
WHAT SORT OF SPEC DUMP VALVE DO I NEED?
HAS I JUST GOTTA BE A PISTON TYPE OR IS THERE ANY THING ELSE IT NEEDS TO DO. I WAS THINKING OF THIS WOULD IT WORK?
The dump valve needs to be the recirculating type because if you vent to atmosphere then measured air isn't going into the engine and fuelling problems occur.

Correct.
Bob, how are you getting on with your EEC dissasembly mate?
Bob, how are you getting on with your EEC dissasembly mate?
Quite far but some of it is still guess work or unknown. The DCL data stuff's been hard to get my head around. TBH I haven't done much recently as I've got too much other stuff on and I think I might end up using a normally aspirated ecu ('93 Mondeo probably) for my supercharger project as I don't need a map sensor or wastegate control. Also I dislike the 'tacked on' approach Ford took with adding the extra code onto what's basically a normally aspirated ecu's code.
hasnt the small turbo unit got a re-circ built on to the side of the compressor housing?
how do you get around not useing this?
Yes it has. And i personally recomend you leave it like this.
STU, i have recently changed my turbo to one of these on my S1 , and i have just plumbed the re-circ valve in as i would a normal d/v.... seems to be workin well, i hope this was how it is supposed to be....
