Default Mixture setting - K-Jetronic, CO value

Hello!

If I do not have the opportunity to measure my mixture settings with a lambda sensor, can I do an approximate control by measuring the emission values (CO)?

It's an XR3i K-Jetronic with about 10:1 comp. ratio, and a 288/280 camshaft. Can we know what CO value shoud I get...?

Thanks!

go to any MOT testing station and get em to set it to 1.7%ish, if you have the time, and they have the patience, try it at 1.3, 1.7 and about 2% and see where it feels strongest then tweak from there, get ign timing set to 12-14deg BTDC and run it on good fuel and it should go pretty well

Ignition already set to 12deg, I'll try the other settings as well.

Thanks for your answer.

and how much a difference is at higher rpm (4000-6500)...

It's recommended to use an adjustable cam pulley. I run a few weeks with the original pulley, in this case it loses power under 3500-4000.

After installing and setting the adjustable pulley it's getting much enjoyable.
Under 3000 it's normally driveable, no problem even in the city, at the lamps, etc. If you rev it over 3500, there you can feel the difference between the stock and the tuning cam. It's much more powerful, and with the ported head and stock intake it has a fascinating sound

With the proper setting of the mixture it's not much different from as a factory spec. engine.

Yes it's a Schrick cam, with the standard hydraulic lifters and springs.
(You don't need to change the springs with the valve lift of this cam, and if you do not want to rev it above 6000 the hydraulic lifters will do as well.)
