Default 3dr rev counter problem

my rev counter is working but it reads a lot less than it should do. It was working fine yesterday but turned it on this morning and it now has the problem. Does anyone know what the problem might be?

mine does the same on a 3 dr too. Was speaking to someone about it and they reckoned it might be the connection to the coil.

Would be intrested in some answers to this one as well

do you mean the coil on the back of the rev counter itself?

My brothers rev counter was completly dead, we took the blackbox off by the coil and the rev. counter came alive.

Maye this blackbox is also the problem by your car.

Cheers Ruud

i have replaced the coil and checked the wire from it to the clocks, all ok. Is there anything else to check before i take the rev counter apart as i dont really want to do that unless i have to?

Will do. btw do you have the following parts, a new cam cover gasket, 2 new 1/2 moon seals, a new cam seal (not essential but would be an idea as doing the bearing and obviously i presume you have the bearing itself?
