Hmmmmmmmm............i bet you, a jam tart, the gearbox has gone in the past, and its had an early BC box fitted, the early ones have no gate in the box, its down to the linkage......so with no gate in the box or linkage.......voila (crunch crunch)

Check the hole through which the clutch cable cable goes on top of the gear box. One single hole -> early BC box with no gate. Two alternative holes -> later type BC box with a gate for reverse.

Lee it can't work that way round on your car unless you have a MK4 linkage........although its not un-common for the linkages to be so loose on a MK3 that the gate doesn't work PMSL

The linkage in that orion of mine was SOOOO loose when going from 5th to 3rd, i would move the stick across, back up and go back into 5th

Fuckin awesome things on MK3's are linkages
